Computing
Computing is an exploratory and engaging subject which allows pupils to think creatively and to solve problems. Computing skills allow children to become confident, creative and inquisitive learners who are able to be critical and challenge themselves. Children need to develop life long skills related to computing and technology, in order to use technology for their own benefit whilst keeping themselves safe online.
Our Computing curriculum is based on the Purple Mash scheme of work. In the Early Years, our children are exposed to a range of technology and are given time to explore how technology can be used to create, develop ideas, solve problems and enhance their understanding of the world. In KS1 pupils learn how to use a range of technology to purposefully create, organise, store and retrieve digital content. Throughout both the EYFS and KS1, children are taught to use technology safely, confidently and purposefully. Our pupils are also encouraged to engage with computing and technology safely outside of school.
