Music
Through our music curriculum children develop an enjoyment and have an appreciation for music, using music from a range of historical periods, genres, cultures, styles and traditions.
Lessons are based on the Collins Music Express scheme of work Reception and in Key Stage One. Children will be taught to sing and use their voices and bodies to create different effects. They have opportunities to play tuned and untuned musical instruments. They will be able to create and compose music, both on their own and with others and be able to use a range of musical language. Children will have opportunities to perform for a range of audiences. In the Early Years children sing, used their bodies and musical instruments to develop their understanding of pitch, melody and to sing whole songs.
