Personal Social Health Education
Our PSHE curriculum is taught through a range of real-life situations and appropriate stories in which children can develop their skills and attributes to help navigate themselves through modern life. We use the Jigsaw scheme of work, which provides age appropriate resources to support the children’s learning. Children develop positive and healthy relationships with their peers both now and in the future. Children understand the physical aspects involved in Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) at an age-appropriate level. They develop a positive body image as well as the confidence to speak out and seek advice from a trusted adult when they feel unsafe.
By using quality age-appropriate texts, children develop an understanding of the different lifestyles people may live and they learn to be respectful and tolerant towards those leading different lives to themselves.
Teachers also support children to talk about emotions and develop language to express how they feel.
