Physical Education
Our Physical Education curriculum improves the wellbeing, fitness and fundamental movement skills of all children. The children participate in a variety of sports with high quality teaching and coaching that is both engaging and fun. Children learn to take ownership of their health and fitness by using the skills and knowledge acquired through PE. By providing opportunities to compete in sport and other activities, we build character and embed values of positivity, teamwork, fairness, resilience, and respect.
Inclusive and progressive PE lessons are planned and taught using the Get Set 4 PE scheme of work. Children in the Foundation Stage also have daily access to activities and resources both indoors and outdoors that help develop their fine and gross motor skills. We encourage all children to be active and use games, songs, dances, and yoga within the classroom and outside.
We engage with the Northamptonshire School Sport Programme to provide competitive sporting opportunities. Regular lessons are taught by a fully qualified sports coach who also provides extra-curricular opportunities.
