Religious Education
Our RE curriculum helps children to acquire and develop knowledge and understanding of Christianity and the other principal religions represented in the UK. We use the Discovery RE scheme of work as the basis for our curriculum (this is in line with the agreed Northamptonshire Religious Education syllabus).
All lessons encourage children to be inquisitive and open minded, to reflect and discover information and to approach new material with empathy. The children acquire knowledge and use this to support their understanding of the world and develop their own opinion about their religion and other people’s religions. This ensures an understanding, respect and tolerance of different religions and ways of life.
We encourage our children to ask questions about the world and to reflect on their own beliefs, values, and experiences. Visiting experts and trips to places of worship enhance the RE learning experience for our children.
